This is because the internet is not required to send video data to the cloud for storage. The only time you will need to use your internet bandwidth is if you need to access your security system remotely (i.e. live viewing or playback).

This DVR has been designed to store video data locally. This means that your security recordings are safe and secure within your residence. The total amount of motion based recordings stored will depend on the size of your MircoSD card or hard drive^*. Thankfully Lorex wire-free cameras only record for short periods and do not consume a lot of storage space. A 1TB hard drive, for example, can record up to 2 years of motion events.

Advanced Motion Detection

Capture only the most important moments with motion recording. Lorex wire-free security cameras use a Passive Infrared (PIR) sensor to detect motion. This built-in sensor detects heat from moving objects such as people or animals. Upon detection, the wire-free security camera will automatically wake up and start sending video wirelessly to the DVR (at longer distances then typically WiFi devices). The DVR can then send you a push notification to your smart phone or tablet using the Lorex Cirrus app. This ensures that you will always be in the know.
